To our community leaders:
Midlands Organized Response for Equity and Justice (MORE Justice) invites you to attend our annual Nehemiah Assembly on Monday, April 27th, 2026 location in Columbia TBA.

MORE Justice is a group of 25+ congregations who are diverse geographically, socioeconomically, racially, and in faith tradition. As the faith community, we are already involved in work to improve the lives of those in the Midlands. Food pantries, rental assistance, and helping people with emergent needs has been part of our call for many years. In addition, we have chosen to live out our faith call to address the root of the problems–systems that often perpetuate unfairness–together under the umbrella of MORE Justice. These members include your constituents who you represent and those who elect our local leaders into office.

Our method to address these root systems is through Direct Action: publicly addressing the tension that our community experiences. This year, over 500 members of the greater Columbia area gathered in-person for our annual Nehemiah Action Assembly to take action and address the tension that our community experienced through the problems of the lack of affordable housing on a local and state-wide level, worsening gun violence, and rising food insecurity.

At the Nehemiah Action Assembly, hundreds of community members will come together to work on addressing those problems. It will be the largest gathering of Richland and Lexington County residents focused on specific solutions to these problems, all of which impact the vitality of the Midlands. We would like you to be there with us as a display of belief in what the Midlands is and what the Midlands can be.
